Performance bonds - Who succeeds gets paid

BURIED in the detail of Barack Obama’s proposed 2012 budget is a rule change that could have a big impact on how America tackles its thorniest social problems. The new rule would allow various government agencies to issue “pay for success bonds”.

Centre for Social Impact releases Social Impact Bonds Report

The Centre for Social Impact has completed a report for the NSW Government advising on the proposed Social Impact Bond pilot announced by Premier Kristina Keneally in November last year. CSI has provided the NSW Government with a set of recommendations for the development and implementation of a Social Impact Bond pilot.

Having the courage and confidence to close

From Randi Weaver, UK Philanthropy Advisor - It is always remarkable when a charity decides against perpetuity and identifies others very capable of carrying on their good work and starts transferring assets.

A British charity that supports Holocaust survivors has donated a combined $56.6-million to two other Jewish organizations and plans to give away the rest of its assets and close within five years.

Join Phil Hayes-St Clair's guest lecture at QUT in Brisbane

On Wednesday 4 May 2011 HSC & Company Executive Chairman Phil Hayes-St Clair will be delivering the first of two guest lectures at the Gardens Point Campus of the Queensland University of Technology. The lecture commences at 11am in Z Block (room 411). The lecture will focus on how information technology can better enable philanthropy.
